Got Gruene?
I do - so if you don't- keep it shut :)
Super cool butterfly garden in the middle of town!"Whats up?"
We have to do this in the backyard.
We have to do this in the backyard. Then Liam ran away..
Liam & "Coach Lasater"
Liam & "Coach Lasater"While I may not record
EVERY
event of our lives
(there are quiet a few)
I do try to get down some
that we have pictures of
&
if I miss something whoopsie..
I must be busy with the following:
baking,
making breakfast,
making lunch,
making dinner,
doing the dishes,
helping with homework,
doing 4 loads of laundry per day
(keep in mind we do use cloth diapers),
driving kids around,
designing/sewing,
cleaning,
doing sit-ups,
keeping up with my soaps,
changing diapers,
brushing/feeding/cleaning up after the dogs & cat,
volunteering,
reading,
making lists (I love lists)
bathing,
on the computer,
re-arranging the furniture,
at a football game,
or maybe even
sleeping.
Whew!
Each and every little thing we do in our lives are important.
I just can't record all of them.
That goes without saying.. :)
Can you say tile?
- yeah, us neither -
until we woke up a few weeks ago to a 6" hill in our kitchen..
At any rate
we ripped it up & had a small mess
for the good part of this month.
SLAVING
over getting the tile out w/o breaking it
we realized that sanding off the glue
from the bottoms of the tiles was simply
NOT happening..
Um.. no..
they do not sell the same tiles
as we put in around 13 years ago..
for teaching us how to
lay tile & grout over the weekend.
A really awesome thing to know how to do &
A really awesome thing to know how to do &
we so appreciate you
giving up your weekend
to put our house back together.
(or as together as our house can be with us living in it)
Halloween preview...
A nerd?
Well, if so the cutest dang version of one we have ever seen.
(watch those glasses - Liam will take ownership real soon)
My music mastermind!

So have I mentioned lately how funny some of my kids are? Dalton in particular? I love it when he starts his sentences with "It must suck when".. Okay, so maybe that isn't the nicest way to begin a sentence but he is 9 & that is about the baddest word he can use so gimme a break.. Besides, the revelation that comes after that is generally amazingly funny..
Such as "It must really suck to be ____'s Mom.." (Why we ask) "Because she has 5 boys - don't you think she wanted to have at least one girl?" (Maybe she likes all those boys - you know NOT every mom wants to have a girl - boys are pretty great too) "Yeah, still, I bet it sucks."
Or just when making a general observation when its POURING BUCKETS of rain & we see kids walking to school in the rain.. "It must suck to walk to school in the rain".
Some of our weekend conversations go like this: "A lot of blonde girls have braces - just look at my friend Braeden.. " (He's a boy) "Oh yeah."
Lala is talking about her friend Sydney. Dalton says "Is she from Australia?" (Why) "Isn't Sydney in Australia?"
The number one best thing about Dalton besides his insightfullness would have to be his uncanny ability to put up with my music. In the mood for old school Madonna? Fine by him. Feel like some REO Speedwagon, crank it up - he'll gladly sing along. Wanna jam to Red Hot Chili Peppers, lets do it. Seriously though this kid knows the words to any song you can put on. Country, Rock, Rap, Pop, you name it, he knows it..
The last few weeks have brought a lot of turmoil around here - if its not one thing - its another. When I am in certain moods some songs get more play time than others. At the end of some days I pick up the kids up & there is one song playing on repeat. "Not Ready to Make Nice" by the Dixie Chicks.. Kind of gives the kids a heads up about what kind of day I have had.. But the last few days my mood has required Micky & the Motorcars. Over and over. In the house and in the car. Dalton routinely sings along while the other kids ask if we can PLEASE listen to something else.. (Nope!) People love to quote things. I like certain lines from their songs.

Rock Springs to Cheyenne - "I’m kind of glad it’s dark outside, Cause there really ain’t nothing to see"
You've got Me - "You can go anywhere, There’s no place like here"
Oh - & in case you are wondering the best line I'm not ready to make nice -
"I'm not ready to make nice, I'm not ready to back down, I'm still mad as hell and I don't have time to go round and round and round" & "It's too late to make it right I probably wouldn't if I could, Cause I'm mad as hell, can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should"...
Anyways, thanks Dalton, for singing along!! :)
Happy Monday,
Jenny

Homecoming 2009

Here is a big rave for the oldest kiddo at our house. Saturday he got up early & mowed the front & backyard then spent the rest of his day pulling down rotted trees & trimming the other ones. In the meantime he helped Lala & me build the trampoline & helped watch Liam. The workhorse finished just in time to shower & get dressed for Homecoming! I'll add a picture of the garter mum the football players wore Friday. We are so proud of him! What did we ever do to deserve such grateful, helpful, and honest kids!?
Workhorses' Mom,
Jenny
A little jumpin diddy..
My baby jumping beans. You have got to be kidding. We have been waiting for around 13 years to get permission from Jason to get a trampoline. Suddenly the Walt Disney song "Dreams really do come true" is playing in the background music in my head.. The kids and I spent Saturday & Sunday putting this together. A real labor of love.. Thankyou to the inventor of youtube..
We spent Sunday evening jumping our little arses off.. Oh the joy of outdoor fun!
Love & Jumps,
Jenny
I <3 Boobies..

So Logan came home yesterday with a new bracelet.. A white plastic one with pink writing.. Now what could possibly make my 14 year old boy wear a little pink & white plastic bracelet? Hmm.. only the fact that written on it is "I <3> Boobies" & "Keep a breast!"
Keep a breast indeed.. My Grandmother (who we lovingly referred to as Doe-Doe as in Doe-Doe Brain) was a breast cancer survivor. Last year a Mom from my kids school passed away from breast cancer. She was in her early 40's. Breast cancer is the second most common cause of cancer.
A few days ago I saw a little girl wearing a shirt that said "Find a cure before I grow boobs". Someone said the shirt was inappropriate. No, the fact that there is no cure for cancer is what is inappropriate. October is breast cancer awareness month - make a donation, join a team and walk for the cure, or simply make sure you and the people you love are getting regular breast exams, including men.
Also keep in mind that women that breastfeed their babies for 6+ months may lower their overall chances of certain kinds of breast cancer. Ahh - the benefits for both mommy & baby. To help raise awareness of breastfeeding and its importance I have created a shirt design that you can see/get on my Very Chic Baby blog. http://verychicbaby.blogspot.com/2009/10/finished.html

Football
Last year at an 8th grade game..Yea football.. Every week is the freakin superbowl at our house. Games on in every room. Texting from here to Dallas to Uncle Fisher about who's winning and who's losing.. Then there are the Thursday night and sometimes Friday night games of the Churchill Chargers Freshman Football team. My big brother Logan is out there in his white jersey playing #50. He is so super cool and a little mean when on the field! I usually don't go to the games because of the fact that I don't sit still & its usually raining but I did go to last weeks game against the mushy mavericks and it was fun. They called the game because they ran out of light - mama had not nice words about it. N-e-ways..
If you are wondering what plays have been called on a game or who has what stats ask Dalton - he is our in house sports announcer. He keeps close track of each play & doesn't let he who sits beside him ever forget it.. ::)
In our house we wear many colors. Don't be fooled by Logan & Daltons room - we don't only bleed orange here.. UT, Texas Tech, Florida.. Of course the cowboys live here but we don't rule out other teams.. The only no go for sure here is A&M. Even though Lala is pretty sure is is ATM. There is no money Lala - I repeat no money.. Its a TEAM - well I guess you can call it that..
Hope, Love, & Football,
Liam
Choir concert..
Lala had her first choir concert last night for this school year. She is in the trouble choir. err.. treble choir.. bwahahahah.. Anyways, those of you that know me may be surprised but I sat through almost the entire concert.. Well, to my credit I was asleep for the begining but I woke up in the middle & let me tell you, if I had known those songs or if they had had a beat to them I would have danced my pants.. err wool longies off.. Just kidding Lala..
Bottom row (of course - cuz she is a little shorty :)).. Second from the left. or maybe the right.. Idk - I don't really know my left & right yet.
Anyway it rocked & my sister is super talented & funny.. I give her more kisses than anyone else in the whole house!
Peace,
Liam
A note from Mommy...
Just a note from Me, (the Mom).. I have been contemplating a new blog lately.. One that stars all of my kids since the 4 of them are all doing fabulous & wonderful things & each is just as great as the other. But, I know this blog has lot of followers and I don't want to try to keep up with a Liam blog, a family blog, and then a business blog on top of that..
So in trying to keep it even steven (or even logan, ashton, dalton, liam) I am going to be sure to include interesting info from and about all of the kids and from everyones viewpoint. I hope you enjoy it! There are lots of great & funny stories to share & we can't wait to get started!

Rain Rain Go Away..
First - the good news!
I love to read books. Lots of books. Even though when we went to the bookstore I left with a cute little stuffed puppy. (hehe - Daddys a sucker). Nothing beats a rainy day like a big snuggly bed & a stack of books! Oh - and that puppy - he has his own leash & I take him for walks all the time.. I also feed him lots of dog bones - yes! real ones if you are wondering... Its my new thing to take little milkbones everywhere I go. And no - I don't eat them.. silly goose (thats what Mama calls me) - bones are for dogsI love to do the sign for airplane. Most of the
time I make it crash!! :)
Mama taught me the song Rain Rain Go away, Come again another day.
Except please rain, don't come again another day.
Just go away please.
passed away suddenly on Saturday night.
I loved her - she was fat & funny & always let me pet her
when she was in the window.
Her name was Betsey Johnson and Gilly, and we also called her
Minya Minya and sometimes we called her fat cat.
She will be missed.
