Cereal Later

I tried cereal this morning. It was YUCK! Mommy said its her favorite kind - something called baby rice & she said my picture is on the box. She is not very truthful. Thats nasty tasting... I am not eating that ever again.

But I did like my chair. Its called a BUMBO - not to be confused with a BIMBO!! And Daddy bought a tray for it yesterday!! I will sit in it but I will not eat YUCKY CEREAL anymore!

Just because....

16 weeks old or 117 days... :)

from the desk of mommy....

new comment regarding wool diaper covers in case you have not seen this one:

from Amanda Q. ~ don't get it though. If it gets pee on it, how does it get clean if it doesn't need regular washing? Why am I not wearing wool pantaloons? I tried to think back to my first experience with hippy-chic cloth diapers for Caleb 15 some odd years ago and he had to have this horrible plastic cover with velcro sides over the cloth diaper. Had I known about the wool pants then, I think I could have stuck it out through two kids. Caleb only made it about 6 months and then the plastic covering drove me over the edge! I'm seriously considering having someone make me a pair of wool short shorts to wear around the house, just to try them out!

great ? Amanda - here is your answer:
Wool is very different from other diapers and covers, it has a natural antibacterial quality that prevents it from needing to be washed as often. It can be washed every 2-3 weeks unless you get poop on it. Wool has a self cleaning property called lanolin. If the wool feels damp or wet after wearing it, you simply lay it out flat to air out and let the wool do its job of self cleaning. When the lanolin properties (the waterproof properties) get too low, its time to lanolize them. Lanolizing only needs to be done every 2 or 3 months depending on how often its washed. Wool is "dirt resistant - the crimp and the scales prevent dirt from penetrating the surface of the wool fibre and the static resistance also helps to resist dust and lint from the air."

Extensions?

So I have some red extensions in this picture.. what can I say.. my mama is a little silly. She thinks she is soooooo funny. really.. ask anyone. she is very very silly!!

Anyways, lots of questions recently regarding my wool pants. Yes, its my signature style (and mine alone - seriously people - how many kids do you know that wear wool pants?), nooo they are not too hot, and yes! they keep anyone holding me from getting wet! Mommy gets them from other mommies that are talented enough to be able to knit & crochet. She gets to pick cool colors & fun appliques that match all of my shirts! Of course some of my shirts are just regular old white ones that Mommy and Lala dye. They are way too creative with my clothes people...

Anyways, then after mommy (*and only mommy) puts a regular cloth diaper on me she puts a wool cover over it to keep in the moisture. And as anyone in our house can tell you if I ain't got a cover on you don't want to be picking me up!! Unless I am wearing a pocket diaper or an all in one (AIO).. So many kinds, so little time... So.. wool holds in the moisture and prevents my friends and family from getting wet. Wool is a natural fiber that repels wetness & does not require regular washings.

I know the real reason Mommy uses cloth on me though. Truth is she loves the attention, the questions, the strange looks, and helping to lessen our footprint on the earth is a good thing too! Plus, I hate wearing paper underwear!

A New Toy

Well, sorry its been so long since I checked in.. a lot has been happening.. First things first, I have hands! They are so cool - they keep me very busy. I wake up & there they are! They twist & turn, I can stick them in my mouth, in fact, my whole fist fits in my mouth. Hands are just plain fun too watch - if you don't have some I feel really sad for you - but I am not sharing mine...

In other news I got an exersaucer Friday night - its pretty neat looking but a little intimidating. There's just so many things to do on it! A special thanks to Daddy & Logan for building it during the opening ceremonies of the Olympics! Mommy said it should have been an event since it took them sooo long!

Thats all for now - it's Sunday morning - can't wait to see whats in store!

a note from Mommy: So Little Mister is growing so quick. He weighs 15 lbs. We took him in to see Dr. M last week for a little eye allergy & the office thought it was so funny to see how fast he has grown! By the way, did you know that a cure-all for nearly everything is breast milk? HHHmmm.. I bet you think I am full of it but our pediatrician told me a little squirt in his eye (or an eyedropper full) would clear it right up. Also not limited to helping out with ear infections, stopped up noses, cuts.. the list goes on and on.... Research has shown that there are over 3 million white bloodcells in it so no wonder it is a miracle cure for some many things, hehe. So if anyone is needing a dosage let me know & I'll put some in a container for ya!! lol.
